Felt Safety Inside
Do you know about the concept of Felt Safety? Felt safety describes your child's feeling of safety in three areas: inside, outside and between.
Without this sense of felt safety, children are not able to learn a new skill or change an unwanted behavior. Felt safety is a subjective idea that only your child can have based on their past trauma and present circumstances.
This week we will explore this idea of felt safety and how to help our children with neurodiversity and a history of trauma gain this felt safety. It is the foundation to any change!
If you recognize that your child has issues with felt safety and you are not sure how to address it, reach out! We can work on this together so that your child has a greater sense of mastery over themselves, their environment and their relationships.
